Journal about stuff--plus a baby!

Wed Oct 28, 2009, 1:31 PM
It's a boy! HAHA! I knew it from the day at the test to find out it was...just couldn't prove it. It was amazing to see the ultra sound renders they can do now. They took a photo and ran the ultra sound to shape and plot this VERY refined and detailed render of the baby inside, all 3d. It's creepy because it's not formed all the way with the skin but it's skeletal is there. It's hard to explain the look of the render, but he looks like ME! Aww i'm friggen happy now, and his name will be Austin.

Anyhow, i'm sorry for no updates but i've been trying to keep commenting when i can. I'm at the library now using one of these urine encrusted computers they have here, so i'll be brief before i go wash my fingers off...i hope they have lava soap.

Hey thank you! Im still learning to draw but im happy with what i have made so far.

Hey! I haven't been on DA so long, I was deleting journal after journal without even bothering to read any of them, because there were so many. I almost deleted yours without ever knowing that you made a new account.

Dunno if you remember much about me, haha. But, regardless, I'm glad you found that grubby old box full of drawings, man. Art really couldn't be more special. It's a shame so many in the world lack the confidence or ambition to really put any work into their drawings, you know?

I hope you get back into drawing soon. I missed looking at your sketches and thinking, "Wow. I wanna be able to draw like that some day." XD

Course i remember ya, good thing my journal said "important" lol. I dunno if that helped really...

I feel you on people not putting effort. I see too many people using references here as well...never want to do the right thing and study the forms and shapes of what they are referencing and learning how it works. Instead of just finding a picture of a person and drawing them just the same, except putting different clothing to suite the situation, they won't try to actually learn how to draw it and make their own poses and things lol.

Just a pet peeve. I've been working so fucking hard on that and it does take forever...but i'll swear on my own balls that i'll be one damn good artist in five years or so lol. I have been on a block lately, so i hope that i can get more up here on DA...even a sketch would be good.

Just practice, i'm only really intermediate IMO.
:iconinebriety:
Lmao, I'm guilty of referencing, but I sketch a lot of free-hand in between and at least try and put what I've learned about different angles and shading into practice. So... I guess.. I am trying to learn, but not getting anywhere with it? o.O Maybe I'm not guilty after all. ._.

Oh well. If I would bother myself to draw consistently on a day-to-day basis tho, I'd definitely get a lot better at the free-handing, I wager, lol.

Anyways, you're already a pretty damn good artist. You can dynamically place a figure on paper, and clothe/texture it, and so on, so you're already several steps ahead of most people. Who knows what you can do with five years? XD

Its not bad to reference, i just dont agree with say, taking a photo and drawing the pose but not being able to draw the pose on your own. You know what i mean. Its all good if you can draw it on your own. My main problem with it is that I work hard on understanding proportions, and a reference is a great tool if you use them for study but not to copy. Its hard work but its worth it to know you pushed yourself. I appreciate the kind words. BTW sorry for the spacing issue. Im typing on my PSP lol.
:iconinebriety:
Lol gotta love PSP, eh? And yeah, I know what you mean. Usually once I get over growling because I see how many mistakes I made on a picture, I feel pretty good that I at least tried my best. I hate just copying, even though I've never been real good at doing anything else, LOL.
